La Jolie is a teaching salon. That means we build the quality of our staff through a definitive education and experience process. From receptionist to master hairdressers, all of our team receives extensive, ongoing training and education. Only by focusing on education can we maintain a strong foundation for all that we do.

From the latest in customer service to the hottest runway hair fashions of Europe, the team at La Jolie is committed to providing it all—hair and beauty services you would expect from an elite salon.

Our level system provides a career path for our staff, leads to high rates of staff retention, and serves to build lasting relationships with our guests, which is why we always thank our guests for their support when someone is promoted. Promotion is a celebration of accomplishment for the staff member, and we never lose sight of the fact that it doesn't happen without our guests' support.

In addition to technical training, our staff continues its own self-development. They travel the globe obtaining the most up-to-date, fashionable, and technically superior seasonal looks and hair care trends. Our technical teams target their education to their specific departments, such as color or long hair, giving the staff a focused, efficient schedule of education. They also constantly collect new product information for use in the salon and for take-home recommendations.

Our Education Process

Every staff member on the floor at La Jolie must participate in the salon’s education program. The program requires that each new staff member participate in a minimum of an 8- to 12-week course in cutting. There is a separate course in chemicals.

Apprentice
A new technical hire joins the staff as an apprentice. Weekly, apprentice staff members are required to use model's to review skills and techniques. Services are related to the current emphasis in their education curriculum. Once our education team is confident that apprentices have a strong foundation in the skills and services our guests expect the apprentice must test out. Only then is she promoted to the floor and begins providing services to our guests.

Level 1 Stylist or Chemical Technician
Level 1 stylist or chemical technician may have years of experience at another salon or they may have just spent a year in beauty school and a year in our training program. Either way we are confident that a Level 1 stylist or chemical technician is ready to provide a high quality of care and service, and over time they will move up our level system.

Our guests can choose from a variety of stylists within the salon. A complementary consultation helps you and our team ensure that you’ve found a stylist that is a good fit.
